Exploring the Internet at PC Professor

Every day, from home or office, millions of people use the Internet. They send e-mail around the world. They tap new sources of vital information. If you're new to the Internet, it may seem mysterious, so we've designed this class for you in mind.

The Internet is a vast network of computers - ranging from banks of powerful corporate machines to a single computer in a teenager's bedroom - linked together by cables and telephone lines. The best known part of the Internet is the World Wide Web, characterized by rich multimedia files that combine text with graphics, audio, photographs, and video. Other less celebrated parts of the Internet exist, carrying computer files that have fewer graphics, such as text documents and databases; but the Web provides the deepest Internet experience.

The term cyberspace is sometimes used to refer to the non-physical space where all this data exists. In these days of satellite links, you don't even necessarily have to be connected by a wire, you can view the Internet via your television.  If this interests you, ask us about Adelphia's Powerlink project.  Our Boca Raton office is proud to be an official demo site for Adelphia and will gladly arrange a presentation of this blazing new technology for you.

Our other offices use similar high speed technology to ensure a productive surfing experience for you and your classmates.
